Brooklyn Quiet Skies is a new community group advocating for noise-free skies over the borough of Brooklyn in New York City.

In particular, Brooklyn Quiet Skies is concerned with plane arrivals into Runway 4 of LaGuardia Airport. Since 2012, the concentrated, low-altitude flight path has produced high levels of noise pollution over central Brooklyn, negatively impacting the health and quality of life of these neighborhoods.

If you live under the LaGuardia jet path in Brooklyn, sign up below for occasional emails with updates on our work and specific actions you can take. Please describe your experience with jet noise in the Comments section.

Watch this video primer by our friends at Quiet Communities to understand why commercial jet paths have recently become heavily concentrated, leading to health impacts on flyover communities:

New York City has set up aviation roundtables to address noise impacts. Meetings are quarterly via Zoom. To join the next meeting of the LaGuardia Committee of the New York Community Aviation Roundtable (NYCAR-LGA), email: lgacommittee@gmail.com to receive a meeting link.

In addition, the Port Authority has created a noise management site where you can tracks flights around NYC’s airports and submit noise complaints.
